Register for SLSWA Drone Patrol Training
at NCSLSC and upload your
CASA Accreditation Certificate

CASA Accreditation

Get started by completing the CASA accreditation. It includes a test of the drone flying regulations and must be completed before you operate a SLSWA Drone during training. You'll also need a myCASA account and to apply for an ARN. The whole process takes less than half an hour.

Register For Drone Patrol Training

Complete this registration form and upload your CASA accreditation certificate if you would like to train to fly surveillance missions on patrol.  SLSWA will send you a link to the online theory modules provided by "GUS". These take 2 to 3 hours to complete.

Book a Practical Session

We have scheduled prac sessions in November and December at North Cottesloe SLSC.  You'll learn about drones and how to control them before completing several flights. We are running them every second Saturday from 7:45am to about 11:00am. Book one here.

Find a Mentor to help you Complete your Log Book

Anyone with the award can mentor your logbook flights. About 6 to 7, short flights are needed to complete the logbook for the award. You can contact a mentor on our WhatsApp group. Send a message to Mike or Cliff to be added to the group.

SLSWA require Pilots to complete skills maintenance each season prior to 31st December. This involves a short flight to demonstrate your skill in observing swimmers and marine hazards and operating the drone. We have scheduled half hour sessions in November and early December. Book one here.
